Design Approach
The intentionally simple and modular site design by SKDesigns is based on W3C Recommendations, utilizing XHTML 1.0 and CSS 2. It is also the goal to meet the WAI Guidelines and the U.S. Section 508 Guidelines while presenting a visually appealing design.
Checks: XHTML, CSS, WAI Guidelines, Section 508.
Newer browsers that support standards will be able to take advantage of print version features, such as revealing the URLs for the resource listings, hiding the site navigation and other website-only needs. This is primarily accomplished using W3C's CSS 2 media types.
Accessibility is also an important ingredient in the site's development and design to ensure that it's widely accessible to browsers and alternative devices, even though it may appear visually different. The goal is user-friendly accessibility for browsers and alternative devices, including speech recognition software, screen readers such as JAWS, text browsers such as Lynx http://lynx.browser.org/, handhelds and other devices.
Typefaces
Book Antiqua is the typeface used for the header title. All other type treatment is handled with CSS and will vary depending on the visitor's browser and settings and computer platform.
