The Accident
One bright Saturday morning in the summer of 1996 I was driving to a friend's house to help him redecorate his home when someone in a pick-up truck pulled out in front of me from a side street. One of the injuries I suffered that day was a brain injury.
Little did I know that day would so dramatically alter the course of my life. I firmly believe that I was given a second chance at life that day since the severity of the accident could have ended my life but didn't.
My kids find great pleasure in joking about what I forget or how I turn words around. Their delightful laughter and finding the humor has truly been the best medicine.
